Welcome to my new blog!

I will be adding cards and mixed media art and other things that I've made and as much info on them as I can. I haven't blogged in years so this is starting over for me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First up is this fun journal page using a magazine cut out, and SU butterfly punch, a sheet of music, magazine cutouts, and a StencilGirl butterfly stencil.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This fun fall 12x12 canvas is one I made using StencilGirl stencils--even one of the monthly club sets was the shorthand in the upper left corner. This was a fun canvas to create--I love all the little squares!

Cover of my Wanderlust 2016 prompt journal, which I have sadly only one entry since it started in January :( gotta get my act together and catch up!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I made this 8x12 canvas for one of my pals over at Craftster. She loves crafting, and I got some of her Jack Russel Terrier as part of the heart pieces. I freehanded the heart stencil and exploded it a bit adding words from magazines. Another fun mixed media creation. And why yes, that is another StencilGirl stencil on the background!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A few pieces of painters tape and several colors of my fave blues/greens and a sponge! Quick and easy-peasy!

This is a big sea turtle stencil from StencilGirl Products. I am not sure what I used for it, but know the water "drops" behind its fins and tail are paper towels, see their fun texture? Perhaps texture paste, but I do know that Twinkling H2O's were painted on the turtle and in the water around it.

Wooden Yarn Bowl I crafted and painted for a Craftster swap.
The next bunch of pix are a wooden bowl that I got at at thrift store, and used my hack saw to cut a lovely jagged chunk of the bowl out then sanded it down, base coated, painted the background color and then drew on the avacados and mushrooms. The recipient loves both so I figured hey why not? I love how it turned out and so did she. She even took it to some craft shows she was in, and had lots of people ask her about it :)

Since I used different types of mushrooms on the bowl, I had to take pix of all of them. Notice how the little sliced s'hrooms go over the inside edge and one of the avocados found its way to the outside of the bowl? I wish I could have watched her open that box and seen the look on her face when she got the bowl. I know she loved it--it was something that I would do again :)
